Fidelity Hits N170 Billion Customer Base In 3 Years

Fast growing commercial bank Fidelity Bank Plc said it has been able to grow its customer base by more than 91 per cent to over N170 billion from N89 billion within a three year period.
The bank said their growth is driven by its savings promotional scheme aimed at rewarding customers’ loyalty, inculcating savings culture and promoting financial inclusion.
Speaking at the presentation of gift and cash prizes to winners of its ‘Get Alert in Millions’ promo reloaded, the managing director and chief executive of Fidelity Bank, Nnamdi Okonkwo, said not only has the bank grownups customer base but has also impacted lives.
Represented by Obaro Odeghe, regional bank head, Apapa/chairman, Promo Committee, he said, “Beyond improving the lives of our customers, one of the benefits of the promo exercise is to reward our loyal customers who have been banking with us for over the years, also to key into the financial inclusion policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
“One of the criteria is that you must be a savings account holder of Fidelity Bank and the draws are held in a very transparent manner, randomised system where names are shown of those that qualify”.
At the presentation ceremony, Isreal Nwabilor, businessman, received alert of N2 million while Oluwadamilare Emmanuel received alert of N1 million. Consolation prizes of Television set, refrigerator and generator set were presented to the winners.
Nwabilor who was full of excitement said he will re-invest the money into his business, while encouraging his friends and relatives to open account with the bank. “I didn’t believe this when they called me but today I can tell that it is real”, he said.
Presenting the N1 million to Emmanuel, Chinwe Iloghalu, Regional Bank Head, VI, said, “This is a true testament of Fidelity Bank drive to support young entrepreneurs. Emmanuel is an aspiring businessman.”
Okonkwo explained that winners emerged from the 5th monthly draw held recently across the six geo-political zones of the country. He added that this is the 7th promo conducted by the bank in the last 10 years. A total of 12 cash prizes, 18 consolation prizes were presented to the bank’s customers simultaneously across the country.
“Our draws are held in a very transparent manner. We have all the regulators, present in those draws, selection is done by members of the press. So it is carried out in a very transparent manner. We have been doing this in the last 10 years”, Okonkwo said.
