President Jonathan, Emefiele Hold Closed Door Meeting

President Goodluck Jonathan, today, Wednesday held a closed door meeting with the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele at the Presidential Villa.
Sarah Alade, acting CBN Governor who took over the mantle of the apex bank following the suspension of the erstwhile CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido, handed over to Emefiele about 10am.
Emefiele’s visit was the first since he resumed duty on Tuesday, as the chief executive of the country’s apex bank.
He however declined to speak on the outcome of the meeting that lasted for about one hour.
It was gathered that his visit was to discuss with the President his new agenda for the economy and the banking sector, which he plans to unveil today.
Isaac Okorafor, CBN spokesman in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday confirmed that that “The governor resumed today and we are just done with the official handing over.”
