UBA Boosts Infant Mortality, Donates Incubators to ABUTH

In continuation of its commitment towards developing and improving the Nigerian health sector particularly in reducing infant mortality rate in the country, UBA Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc Wednesday donated a set of incubators to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) Zaria on. 
 Managing Director/CEO of the Foundation, Ijeoma Aso said that the donation to the hospital is a promise kept by Foundation while keeping to its key objective of improving societal health and well being of the people. She reiterated the high importance UBA places on the health sector stressing that the donation of incubators by UBA is a gesture of adding to the already existing incubators in the hospital while assuring that UBA is committed towards doing more for the iconic hospital in the near future.
 Lawal Khalid, the Chief Medical Director, ABUTH while commending UBA Foundation for the donation, said that pre-term babies will greatly benefit from this gesture. According to him, “UBA has added to the current eight incubators in the hospital. He said that a lot of great men where once born and cared for in incubators. The CMD further affirmed that ABUTH has a strong relationship with the bank and looks forward to more fruitful business and CSR relationships with UBA.
 Olabisi Shittu, Regional Bank Head, Kaduna 1, UBA Plc, who led the UBA delegation to ABUTH Zaria, appreciated the management of ABUTH for the warm reception accorded the UBA delegation while reiterating UBA’s commitment towards promoting a more robust relationship with the hospital.
 ABUTH is the fifth? (confirm ) teaching hospitals pan-nigeria to receive incubators from UBA Foundation.  UBA Foundation recently donated incubators to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin; University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Enugu and Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), Kano, as part of the campaign by the Foundation to give as many premature babies as possible a chance of living.
 UBA Foundation is the corporate Social Responsibility arm of UBA meeting special needs of various communities across Africa by giving back to society in the area of Education, Health, Environment and Economic Empowerment
